Patchy lives!!!
Looks like Lost is now neck deep into the realm of science fiction. Desmond travelling in time, the island resurrecting people (was he really dead?), and... THEY FOUND THE FRIGGIN' PLANE??!! How is that possible unless the fabric of the space/time continuum was ripped apart (or some other such sci-fi explanation)?
Okay... was Patchy brought back to life, or just healed from a REALLY bad injury? Does anyone remember if his pulse was taken, or did they just assume he was dead? If he was dead, and the island brought him back to life, it explains why Miss Klu (sp?) was so willing to have Patchy shoot her... she'll just come back to life. But then why wouldn't the island resurrect the dying mothers and the dying Ben? It makes no sense. So Patchy probably wasn't dead.
Did anyone catch when Juliet said "we call those good odds" when talking about the increased sperm counts? Isn't there some theory floating around out there that Dharma was conducting probability experiments?
I thought for sure "parachute chick" wasn't going to speak a lick of English, and we weren't going to get any answers out of her. So far, all we got was another question, but a pretty cool one.
Did everyone else guess immediately that the old bag on the bench was Jin's mother? Oh well.
I wonder why Ben wants samples from ALL of the women.
People online are theorizing that The Others staged a fake plane crash to keep search parties away from the island. Funny, I find the "rip in the space/time continuum theory" more plausible.
I have a translation of what "parachute Chick" said to Patchy in Italian. It's not "Thank you for saving me" as Patchy claimed... it's "I'm not alone". Now, was that message meant for Patchy alone, or was she so delirious that she was unconsciously speaking in different languages?
Do you think Patchy was expecting her? He showed up after the flare gun was fired. Was she bringing him the phone? Then why would she have a picture of Desmond?
Didn’t Patchy hemorrhage blood out of his ears and mouth, and didn’t it shoot like 5 feet into the air? I don’t remember if they checked the body, but even if he wasn’t dead, Patchy was in bad shape. It’s interesting…
I assumed the plane wreckage was faked by the others, or Dharma, or whoever… but the writers leave the door open for space/time shenanigans, which is nice.
"I'm not alone." I assume she was delirious, and Patchy was responding to the flare (and heard the helicopter crash the night before).
Old bag = Gin’s mom. Yeah, kinda obvious. But for me, the key bit of info from the flashback is the fact that we may not know who Gin’s father really is… Uh, Christian Shepherd, anyone? We already know he’s jack and Clair’s dad. And he’s appeared in one of Sawyer’s flashbacks, so I bet he’s Sawyer’s dad too. Hell, do we know who Locke’s real dad is?
Clair had a baby. Gin knocked up Sun. Sawyer knocked up that chick from his and Kate’s flashbacks, plus maybe Kate as well. Is Jack going to impregnate Juliet? Was the whole point of the plane crash to get Christian Shepherd’s children (his flock) to procreate so the others/Dharma could research his grandchildren?
Remember in season 1, Jack found his father’s casket empty shortly after an image (?) of his father appeared in the jungle and led him to fresh water. Hmmm….
Shepherd... flock... I love it!
This is what I would like to believe. Charlie said "Is that how a helicopter supposed to sound?" plus Can you get a helicopter to a remote island? I think she is a plant by Dharma sent to investigate what happened on the island since the finale of season 2 and not being able to communicate with the others.
Her multi-language skills seems to place her with the Others who seem to speak many languages. Plus we know Patchy was expecting her since he came running in without caution to the flare. Doesn't really seem like him. The pic of desmond and penny must have been observed and placed with her to get her an in with the Losties.
So if she is there for the Others, then we can't trust what she's saying about 815, unless Dharma has their DNA and is placing fake clones of the survivors in the debris. Just seems pretty implausible. For some reason, she wants to destroy hope of rescue for the Losties.
So what did we learn. Patchy probably got hurt bad but was not killed. The island heals which has been hinted from the get go.
We don't know Jin's father. Could be Sun's lover could have been Jin's brother or they could even be brothers and sisters.
I like how Silas put all those pieces about together. The only thing that I don't like about his theory is that Dharma and the Others are working together... or the are one and the same. If the writers are feeding us false info via Patchy (the "war" between Dharma and The Hostiles) then we'll never figure this damn thing out.
