I think my favorite part of the episode was that Major Kira finally got to act in a great scene! Sorry... that's a Star Trek reference for anyone who doesn't get that. The actress who played the woman dying of cancer was in Deep Space Nine. She should kiss Ron Moore's feet for such a meaty role.

Great episode. Now we're cookin'! Looks like Anders is in trouble. Is Gaeta going to lose his leg, or was that just to add tension? How can Starbuck be and Angel AND the harbinger of death that will lead everyone to their end (that's a paraphrase). Maybe everyone needs to die in order to get to Earth. That place that Roselyn and the cancer woman were dreaming about could have been Earth.

WOW! What an exciting show. The next 4 episodes should be great, though it is pretty obvious that they will not find Earth until the second half of season 4. They can't find Earth before they un-box the Three's, namely D'Anna, because she is the only one who can recognise the Final Five, who are from the 13th Tribe.

Some of you may remember from my emails prior to this blog going up, that I said that the Final Five were around and among the members of the 13th Tribe. Now the Hybrid confirmed my beliefs. I'll try to find that earlier email on my beliefs on who and what the Final Five are and post it here.

Until then... what did you think? Chairman and Silas, you must admit that this episode was way more exciting than the last.

OK! Here is a partial copy of that earlier email I sent out at the start of Season 4. I'm not saying that every thing I predicted will come true but so far my claim that the Final Five are part of the 13th Tribe was just confirmed by the Hybrid in this last episode, Faith.

THE EMAIL

In the Eye of Jupiter episode in Season 3, we learn that the Final 5 Cylons are also the 5 Priests of the Temple. These 5 Priests,
"SERVE THE ONE WHOSE NAME CANNOT BE MENTIONED." This was read by Roslin from the sacred scrolls at the end of the episode. The name? Maybe Jesus, or in this case Baltar. Baltar's trial mirrored the sentencing of Jesus by the Romans, only Baltar wasn't crucified. He even looked like Jesus with the long hair and beard. People were asking him to bless their children... and Imaginary Six said to him before the trial, "EVEN IF THEY KILL YOU, YOUR NAME WILL LIVE ON FOREVER". Just like it did for Jesus.

In BSG I believe there is One God, who created two different races, the Humans and the Cylons. But these Cylons are not machines, they are not programmed. They are maybe a more superior race and I think the two races got together and created another race of Human/Cylons. This new race of Human/Cylons became the 13th tribe, which would be logical as to why they didn't stay with the other 12 colonies. The BSG Humans pray to 12 Gods, what we know as the 12 signs of the zodiak. But they don't believe in a higher God. The Cylons do, they know more about the human religion than the Humans do. We also learn in the Eye of Jupiter episode from the Hybrid that the Humans and the Cylons share the same God. God, not Gods.

So you have two races who decided to mix and create a new race, the 13th tribe. This 13th tribe builds a temple on their way to Earth that the 5 Cylons/Human Priests stand guard over. Obviously these 5 Cylon/Human Priests are physically dead and only their spiritual conciousness remains. Now we have Hera (Cylon mother - Human father) and Nicky (Human mother - Cylon/Human father). Another two races are born. So it looks like that saying we keep hearing over and over rings true. "This has all happened before and it will happen again." Meaning the cross-breeding of the races.

WHO DO I THINK THE 5TH CYLON IS?
I think it is Mr. Gaeta. Why?
1) Ron Moore said that it is someone who was with the show from Season 1, Day 1.
2) Of the Final 5, we know 4 of them were on New Caprica and part of the Resistance. Mr Gaeta helped the Resistance by giving them information on Cylon jamming codes so they could make contact with Galactica, he fed them info on Cylon activities. He was ultimately responsible for the ability to escape from New Caprica. So though he fought the Cylons from behind the scenes, he was still part of the resistance. The 5 seem to be protectors of the Human Race from the other Cylon models, who refuse to think about the 5.
3) Being that these Final 5 Cylons/5 Priests are like the 12 Disciples were to Jesus, Mr. Gaeta is more like Judas. Wanting to betray or in the scene during Baltar's trial, lie about seeing Baltar sign the Death List.
4) It has been confirmed by Ron Moore that the Final Cylon is not in the "Last Supper" photo which mean Roslin, Lee, Baltar, Starbuck, Helo and Adama are not the Final Cylon. Lt. Gaeta is not in the photo.
5) Besides, I think the 5th Cylon is someone you wouldn't expect and Mr. Gaeta is someone you wouldn't suspect.

THAT IS MY TAKE ON WHO THE FINAL 5 REALLY ARE. It's pretty Frakkin' obvious that these Final 5 were around way before the the Skin-Jobs and the Chrome Toasters. The saying has always been that the Cylons were created by man. Perhaps these 5 Cylons who appear to be human-like, were the original creators of the Chrome Toasters. Afterall Aaron Douglas who plays Chief said after Season 3 that the 4 Final Cylons are indeed Cylons but they are much different than the programmed models.

I forgot all about that line about the 5 priests who "SERVE THE ONE WHOSE NAME CANNOT BE MENTIONED." I wonder who that can be? Can it be Baltar? At the moment, they're not consciously serving anyone except maybe The President.

Yeah, it looks like Major Kira spent the last 10 years taking some sorely needed acting lessons. But I warn you: Any Keiko and I'm outta here!

I don't think we need to be taking the "harbinger of the apocalypse" thing so literally. I think it just means the end of the human race in that they need to breed with the cylon race to become our ancestors. Starbuck will lead them to earth.

The final five are totally serving Baltar. First, Torrey was converted. Then, Chief was converted. Next...Tigh? Anders?

So...
"Baltar" + "Iblis" = our Jesus?

I've said this here before, but I'm totally with gaetaisthe5th. I've thought Felix was a cylon since the season 1 finale, even before we knew about the "final five."

Hey, wasn't there a line from Athena (before she was named Athena, early in season 2 when they went down to Kobol and found the "road map" to earth) where she said "some of the cylons were actually modeled after the original lords of kobol"? Did that happen?

I think shunanimous may be on to something here. True Tory and now Chief seem to be following Baltar's lead. You may think, well so is Roslin, but she is the dying leader that both the sacred scrolls and the Cylon Hybrid talk about. She is not the final cylon, this was also confirmed by Ron Moore. However if you think about it, Mr. Gaeta has always had a love/hate relationship with Baltar. So that makes me feel a little more confident that Gaeta is the 5th.
