Any thoughts? I'm starting to get a little bored. I think the performances are all EXCELLENT, but it just seems like they're dragging things out. I guess I'd be complaining if we got there too fast, so what do I know.
Well again we see another prediction come true that the old man hybrid said in Razor. Well... almost true. In a nutshell he said that humans and cylons would find Earth on "the wings of an Angel." So what does Leoben tell Kara about the difference he sees in her? He says that he sees an Angel in her. I'm starting to believe that Kara is an Angel of her former self. Going on Silas' notion from last weeks blog that there are Angels guiding mankind to Earth, I think makes a very good case that Kara is an Angel. I think she might have found Earth and some how died but an Angel of herself came back to the fleet. Like I said at the end of Season 3, Kara looked angelic when she flew up along side of Lee. Plus now she says that she feels like an alien in a human body. That she can feel Earth as being a part of her. So I believe Kara is that Angel that the old man hybrid was talking about and her destiny is to find Earth.
But what about the other thing the old man hybrid said? About Kara leading the humans to the Apocalypse. Perhaps he was referring to maybe a big final battle between the cylons and humans once they all get to Earth? And I am still puzzled as to why Caprica Six doesn't feel or know that Tigh is one of the Final Five. She told Roslin in the 1st show of Season 4 that she could sense that the Final Five were close by. Why can't she sense it when Tigh is visiting her in the jail cell?
Oh, and I still think Gaeta is the 5th.
Chairman,
Dragging things out? It's only the 5th episode of the first 10. It's no secret that they are not going to reach Earth until the second half of Season 4. Plus the un-boxing of D'Anna still has to happen and that's supposed to be part of the last two episodes of this half of Season 4. I think the flow may seem a little slow at times but they still have to flesh out some of the characters storylines.
I didn't really care for this episode. I don't buy anyone's swinging over to Baltar's message of a new beginning and the one true god. He's ultimately responsible for their cylon captivity on New Caprica and a major suspect to the annihilation of the 12 planets. NO ONE should be listening to him. Tyrol is a mess.
I think we will see Earth sooner then later. I almost expected to find it in this episode. I'm still hoping for a big blowout where almost everyone dies by the end of the series.
I have major problems with Athena. Like can't she say something like I'm a cylon, I know whether or not Kara is one of the final 5. She's scripted like she's totally human. Also hello, we left our baby on BSG, but I fail to mention it at every turn. Like that wouldn't be the total impetus for both of them to rendez-vous back and start the mutiny, not how they played it out.
Anders should have walked in on Starbuck and Leoban fraking. It is really weird the cylons can't sense the 4 remaining cylons. I want Leoban to beat Anders to an inch of his life and only stop when he suddenly realizes he's one of the final 5.
I'm worried Dee is the final cylon. They are curiously removing her from the entire story, like they have something in store for her and want people to forget about her.
the epsiode seemed to be setup up for next's week episode, so i'll reserve judgement until i've seen both halves. still, i didn't find it to be slow. even though there wasn't much action, there was oddles of character development.
tyrol IS a mess, but his grabbing baltar by the throat and choking him was the most chief-like action he's taken all season. as for tyrol accepting baltar's message, i don't have a problem with it. he just found out that he is a cylon, AND his wife threw herself out of an airlock. plus i think he suspects torrey and tigh for her death. alone and confused, they could have tyrol do anything and i might buy it.
but silas is dead-on with regards to the writers use of athena. why wouldn't they have the only trusted cylon in the fleet interogate leoben as soon as he came on board? and who is watching their once-important baby? doc cottle and a cloud of nicotine smoke?
i think they've taken dee out of it so they can have an emotional reunion with lee just seconds before dee is killed.
the "wings of an angel" line seems to confirm much of the "angel" speculation. but what is with the "harbinger of the apocalypse" line that gaetaisthe5th mentioned? is it a play on words? will they get to earth and find that only hybrids can survive on the planet? so the colonials and cylons have to remain in orbit and breed before colonizing earth (thus the end of humanity)? so modern day earth (that's us) are the descendents of hybrids?
