Looks like I was wrong about how they leave the island. That baby's gonna blow! They can't really kill Jin and Desmond and Michael like that. My guess (probably wrong) is that Michael will redeem himself by saving Jin and Desmond somehow, but die in the explosion (with a bunch of red shirts). Sun will see the explosion from a distance and assume Jin is dead.
The crackers were 15 years old. Does this mean it's been 15 years since the island was last moved? If so, great way to get that info to us. The writing in this episode was top notch.
I'm glad I don't look at the intro credits anymore. Richard Alpert's appearance was a great surprise.
Did anyone recognize Jack's mom as the lawyer from Hill Street Blues? I barely did. Looks like she's had some work done. And nice cameo by Ensign Ro/Admiral Kane.
How the hell is Locke going to know what to do down there in The Orchid? Who was Ben communicating with... Jacob? The Others?
I'm dying to know who they're claiming the other 3 "survivors" of the crash were.
Looks like Aaron counts as one of the Oceanic 6 for sure.
Lost may not pack the gritty, philosphical gut-punch of Galactica, but when they do it right it's exceptional tv. I'm watching the end, and I'm like, "whoa, I'm totally not ready to see Jin die." I hope Chairmen's theory is correct about Sun not actually seeing him die. Heavy.
So if the island can cure Rose's cancer and make John's crippled body walk (and run), can it bring Christian Shepherd's corpse back to life? He was in the cargo hold when the plane crashed, right? Was he involved with the island prior to the crash, or does he use Alpert time machine after his resurection. Maybe it's just me, but I felt that Christian Shepherd had a hand in getting many of the main characters on flight 815 in the first place...
And I totally think Jack is somehow responsible for Clair's death (or her being left behind). He looked like he was going to puke when he found out she was his sister.
All I have to say, is that if Desmond dies, I'm going to be pissed. He is probably my favorite character.
I think Ben is communicating with the others (the ones with all the guns) and they are going to come in with Kate and Sayid to slay all the commandos.
Also, I thought there were only 2 survivors. I could have swore they said that there were those five plus two others. My guess is that it will be Locke and Sawyer, based one who is with the survivors right now. Something tells me those two are going to die in 2 weeks.
Regarding "Jack looking like he was going to puke." I think that was just because he knew she was dead, which we assume from an episode or two again, when she looked all doped up.
Jumping back to last weeks discussion about whether or not Richard was timeless or time travelling... Jen reminded me that Richard appeared to little Ben in the jungle wearing a ragged puffy shirt and sporting scraggly long hair. Unless he began time travelling at that point, it wouldn't make sense that he appears clean cut and "modern" everywhere else, then appears like that to little Ben.
Does anyone think Matthew Abbadon might be future Walt? Probably not.
I was a big believer that Michael was the guy in the coffin, but it seems more and more likely that it's Ben. Michael redeeming himself is a much better story than Michael dying alone. That's why Jin can't die. That actor may be gone for a whole season, but it's a much better story if he reunites with Sun. Ben, on the other hand, needs to die alone. Even if he ends up being a "good guy", his methods warrant an unhappy ending for him.
Oh, and I don't watch the coming attractions, so if you want to discuss those (and please do), please label it a spoiler. Getting spoiled by my own blog is just wrong.
Yeah, I don't watch the comming attractions either, but Kristi does (and she has a bad poker face).
My favorite character is probably Sayid, so I'm thinking he at least makes it to next season.
I still don't get why they had to lie about everything after they were rescued. It leads me to think that there may be a bunch of survivors that they are protecting. I mean, if I were in their place, I'd be pissed about the fake wreckage (and commandos) and want to go after Widmore in public.
The numbers are too weird. Like Hurley said, that can't be a coincidence. Someone/thing is manipulating them... making those numbers appear in sequence like that. Of course, that in itself is weird, so which is weirder?

Protect which people? Are there still survivors on the island? Protect themselves from whom, or what? Ben? Whidmore? Alpert? Abaddon? NanoSmoke Monster? Are they just protecting the island? From a specific threat, or the world in general?
Last season ended with on-the-edge Jack saying "I'm sick of lying." Did they want to lie, or was that somehow forced upon them? Jack's comment seems to make me think it's the latter...
I don't think Christian is alive, he was too omnipotent with his knowledge of the commandos to just be normal.
Sun's takeover was awesome! My guess is she believes Jin is really dead because she says 2 people are responsible. I'm guessing the second person is her.
I already told this to Chris but on the Locke episode, the mother tells Locke's mom "He's twice your age." I think that implies that Cooper is not the Dad as he was not 16+ years older then Swoozie Kurtz who played his mom in a past episode.
I read a crazy theory online about how Lost is all about time travelling and how the smoke monster is Fate. You are not allowed to change destiny when you time travel though you can make little changes. If you do try to change destiny, the smoke monster will interfere and course correct. Don't know how valid that is but it was something to think about.
Ooh... I like that smoke monster theory. But it did seem like Ben unleashed smokey on Keamy and his men. If that theory were true, Ben would hardly have control over smokey.
Chairmen said: "I like that smoke monster theory. But it did seem like Ben unleashed smokey on Keamy and his men. If that theory were true, Ben would hardly have control over smokey."
Right...BUT!...Ben was shocked when Keamy killed Alex ("they changed the rules"). So maybe Ben knew what Alex's destiny was going to be, and when Keamy f'ed that up Ben was then able to send smokey out after Keamy and his men.
That said, I don't buy the "smokey as fate" theory...though I'm a sucker for any time travel or alternate reality shenanigans.

Why isn't Kate in custody?
Ankle bracelet?

What did everyone think about Hurley and "the numbers"? Poor kid, just can't escape them.
I think the 6 wouldn't go public not only to protect people but to protect themselves as well.
Who is Matthew Abaddon working for??

I can't believe I haven't commented on here yet.
