Galactica: Deadlock (air date 02/20/2009)

Ellen returns to the Colonial Fleet with Boomer. Although Ellen is initially overcome with joy at seeing Saul Tigh again, she becomes troubled by the relationship between Tigh and Caprica Six. Ellen also learns that some of the Cylons want to leave the Colonial Fleet behind. Meanwhile, Baltar uncovers a dangerous situation among the civilians on the Galactica.

That was a little too "soap opera" for my taste.

Ellen did say something interesting, that the others didn't pay attention too because everyone was talking at once. Someone accused the Final Five of making up the notion of a one true God and implanting it in the Skinjobs, and Ellen responds "We didn't make anything up". Looks like this "God" is the real thing.

Tigh acted in perfect character throughout this episode. As they were voting, I was thinking to myself... Tigh is staying with the fleet no matter what the outcome of the vote. Well done, Saul (and the writers).

Yeah, I thought this was the weakest episode of the final 10 so far.

I agree that Tigh stayed in character, but I don't know if Chief voting to leave with the bayship was faithful to his character or just a convenient plot device to make Ellen the swing vote.

Is Ellen's repeated claim that they didn't invent the Cylon god convincing? She said it to Cavil last week and to Tigh this week, but I'm not sure if I'm buying it. Traveling all the way from Earth to the 12 colonies, only to find humans again at war with centurions, maybe the final five invented the Cylon god to pacify the Cylon.

This ep just seemed like a setup for the finale. I'm a little tired of the Adama/Tigh bromance. I could have done with 10 less cuts of Adama staring at the innards of the ship... I get it already.

I dont remember when Boomer left Galactica.

I liked that we see the old Ellen being petty and jealous, but yeah we probably don't need another "see the cylons are just like us" episode.

About the Chief's vote... I thought the same thing that it might be out of character for him to vote to leave, especially since Adama just accepted him back into the fold. But I wasn't sure if it was just me hoping the chief would want to stay.

"I dont remember when Boomer left Galactica."

She was being escorted to the brig through a throng of screaming military personnel when Calley pulled a gun and shot her, Oswald style. Boomer than woke up on a resurrection ship and went all maladjusty on Cylon-occupied Caprica. Then she met up with Caprica Six and killed a Deanna to save Sam. When we next saw Boomer and Caprica Six, it was on New Caprica when they walked into President Baltar's office to accept his surrender.

I think this would be a lot less confusing if every other noun wasn't "Caprica."

Yes, this episode was a ho-hum episode for me. I agree with monsteratomic... this felt like a setup for the finale.

It was nice to see Ellen is still as petty as always. She was being a real woman... becoming more agitated once learning Caprica Six is pregnant. It wasn't so bad that Saul frakked Caprica Six but now that she's pregnant, Ellen loses it. It messes her up so much that she votes to leave when she knew all along that the Cylons and Humans were meant to stay together. "I only voted that way to hurt you Saul." WHAT A BITCH!
