So Sayid has the sickness! I must be slowing down... it didn't dawn on me until I saw Claire at the end with the gun. So the big question is, what is the sickness? Does it have anything to do with Smokey/Evil Locke, or is it a completely different thing. Did it bring Christian Shepherd back to life and now he has the sickness? We saw Christian and Claire together in the cabin at some point, didn't we? She didn't seem "sick" but maybe she wasn't full blown yet. And we've never seen Christian looking all dishevelled and wild looking, right?
I like that Juliette's death has turned Sawyer back into selfish Sawyer, but I hope he stops moping around. And I hope by series end he returns to heroic Sawyer.
Did we see that baseball before, somewhere?
This episode bothered me in a lot of little ways... Claire gives her credit card to Kate. Really? I don't care how nice she seems, it's your effin' credit card! Give her some cash. You're really going to pay that thing for her every month? Still, I enjoy the show so much that I overlook these little things. Like why don't the new others just tell Jack what is going on? I know it would ruin the suspense, but it's almost laughable now how many times they ask questions and get no answers. If this were an inferior show (like Flash Forward, which I pick apart every week), I'd get annoyed at this stuff.
I got the impression that Claire's dad pays the credit card, the way she was so dismissive about it...or maybe I'm just creating an out for bad writing.
What bothered me was Kate sobbing when Sawyer told her about the wedding ring. I didn't buy it...it was a solid scene up to that point, but then it seemed like they were just trying too hard to be melodramatic...
So Claire went all Rousseau, setting traps & brandishing a rifle...does that mean Claire has the same sickness that Rousseau had (an ironic twist since Rousseau was always fixated on the sickness), or does that mean Claire has Rousseau's ability to detect the sickness?
You still watch Flash Forward? What a steaming pile. Great book, though...and what I've seen of the show doesn't ruin anything from the original story (that's how many liberties they took). Robert J Sawyer is one of my favorite living SF writers.
My DVR hasn't been picking up Flash Forward lately. I'm not enjoying it either. I'm waiting for the end of the series before I read the book, but if it's so different, maybe I'll read it sooner.
