Great episode. I didn't think we would get that many details about Richard's past. I'm glad we did.
So what was the Man in Black talking about when he said that "Jacob stole his body"? Was he lying? Why would he lie about that? That's a pretty strange revelation.
So there really ARE dead people walking around on the island. I always suspected that it was either Smokey or Jacob appearing AS dead people. But Isabella telling Hurley that Richard needs to kill the man in black couldn't have come from Jacob or Smokey (Jacob is dead and Smokey wouldn't give an order to have himself killed).
Mu guess is that the Man in Black is pure evil. If he gets off the island he will corrupt the world.
Is the man in black stuck as Locke because they brought Locke's dead body to the island?
Whidmore wanted control of the island, but does that make him against Jacob? Whidmore is apparently against the man in black, but does that make him a good guy? Did we ever learn his motivation for wanting to return to the island?
It was cool seeing how the Black Rock got to the middle of the island...I had always assumed it had something to do with the island teleporting/moving...
I guess it's just me, but the sounds & flashing visual effects of the pillar of smoke really comes across as mechanical. It makes it hard to let go of the technological explanation of the island's mysteries...
