News: Galactica Gets More Episodes

From TV Week...

Sci Fi Channel has increased its fourth season order of "Battlestar Galactica" to 22 episodes.

The order will include a special two-hour "Battlestar" event to air during the fourth quarter of 2007 on Sci Fi, and will also be released on DVD. Previously, the network announced a reduced "Battlestar" season order of 13 episodes rather than 22. Combined with a slight ratings erosion during the show's current third season, fans worried Sci Fi might cancel the Peabody Award-winning show. The fourth season will premiere in early 2008. "Battlestar" is executive produced by Ronald D. Moore and David Eick.

Ain't It Cool News is reporting a rumor that the two-hour "DVD event" is said to deal with the Battlestar Pegasus shortly after the start of Cylon War II.

Uh deal with the Battlestar Pegasus after Cylon War II? Does that mean bring back Kane and not deal with anyone from the current Sci-Fi BSG storyline. Would seem odd and risky. Only Gina could be in it.

Oh, also Ronald D Moore commented that Starbuck's death marks the opening chapter of the third act in a four act play. Plus with the episode extensions, it looks likely that BSG will be at least a 5 season series.

I think i'd like to see a Pegasus movie. Why bother making a 2 hour movie with the Galactica cast when you can just make a 2 part episode? At first, I thought they might be trying to create a spin-off series, but it couldn't last long. It'd be over as soon as Pegasus and Galactica meet.
