On the 100th episode milestone for the series, the time of reckoning has begun when Daniel Faraday comes clean regarding what he knows about the island.
Great episode! We didn't learn too much, except that Charles Widmore is Faraday's Dad. I originally thought that was the case, then I backed off it for some reason. Don't remember why. Oh well.
Eloise kills her son. Awesome. But why is she hell bent on making sure the future is never changed? You would think she would try anything to change what happens. Unless she does change the future somehow and it's a disaster. And is Charles doing the same thing... trying to prevent the future from changing, or are he and Eloise adversaries? I'm very confused on their relationship.
"You were in the 50's... like Fonzie times?"
I had a feeling Faraday was a dead man when his Mom convinced him to go on the frieghter. The actress did a great job with her facial expression... a mixed feeling of winning and losing at the same time. Then when she was outside the hospital she said something about "sending my son back to that island when I know damn well...". That's when I knew he was a goner. We'll miss ya Danny boy!
How does Desmond fit into all of this?
Boy, Jack and Kate can sure mess up a good plan. What's going to happen with Sawyer and Juliet? Maybe Chang steps in and finally believes the time travel story.
I don't know if there were many scenes last night that we didn't see coming before it happened. And to make matters worse, they are totally overdoing it with the dramatic "big reveal" music every time they go to commercial. It's gone from distracting to comical.
Meanwhile, they have these characters running around time and space, but there doesn't seem to be much actual character development taking place. I hope we at least get to spend some more time with Smokey, Locke and Ben in the temple (or Hurley and Miles in the van) before the season wraps...
I wonder how long we'll have to wait before they give us the old "father/son bonding" scene with Miles and Chang, only to have Miles convince Change to abandon his family in order to save them.
Something I was reading about online....and also wondering about.... Where is Claire? Is Claire dead?
So there is a theory that Claire in fact is DEAD and did NOT survive the her house blowing up (during Kermy & co.'s attack on the barracks).
This is taken from another post on another website:
CLAIRE: What's going on? LOCKE: Claire? SAWYER: You all right, sweetheart? CLAIRE: Yeah, a bit wobbly, but, uh, I'll live. MILES: Well, I wouldn't be too sure about that. (The Shape of Things To Come)
What wouldn’t you be sure about Miles? What are you implying or inferring? Could our sweet sweet Claire already be lost? Did claire die in the explosion? Indeed, she died, just not in the sense of death we have become very familiar with, as our oh oh so clever Darlton have coined. For years Darlton have implied, “Dead can have several meanings, what do you mean?” Well, I am beginning to allign my thinking to that of Darlton. Notice, in “Something nice back home” Miles repeatedly looks at Claire intrigued. To a superficial mind, like that of Sawyer, you think he is checking out her good looks. If you had the abilities of Miles would you not look the same way at a walking talking corpse?
In the jungle, SAWYER: How's your head? CLAIRE: It's better. Bit of a headache, but at least I'm not seeing things anymore. MILES: Yeah? What'd you see? SAWYER: Back off, Donger. (Something Nice Back Home)
What would a person who is dead on the island see? It makes sense that Claire would be dead b/c she appears to people....Kate.
I had that same theory a while back, Heatha. There's more evidence to back it up too, but it was so long ago I forget what it was. I didn't even think about the Miles connection. Since he can talk to dead people, he probably knew she was dead all along.
Ok so is Faraday really dead? Lots are wondering.... and as we've seen many times on LOST they like to trick us and make us think someone is dead and then they come back a few episodes later.
Dunno if anyone has seen this video from Comic Con 2008: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdWLYVRiin8
In the video (which looks to be taken in Chang's Dharma home and in 1977) a frantic Pierre Chang is pleading with the viewer to get the Dharma Initiative up and going and back to the island. The thing is, you do not actually see the videographer, but the voice sounds like Daniel Faraday. So somehow at some point Faraday convinces Chang about everything...he's from the future, the swan, the incident, the purge etc. But the question is when did they make this video. Either: 1. Daniel somehow goes to Pierre Chang's house in between the Orchid & Sawyers house. 2. He does this all in another time iteration. 3. He is still alive and they make this video at some point after his mother shoots him.
The other question is.... Is the Comic Con 2008 video considered (or will it be considered) canon to the regular lost story line. I think there are past comic con videos/pieces ended up being canon.
Also.... tying in with this.... I believe that Ilana, Bram and crew (from Ajira Flight 316) are a new third fraction and are a new generation of Dharma. Reasons why I think this: 1. If indeed the Comic Con video is canon, then they would be the response to Chang's video plea for help 2. They have a code riddle "What lies in the shadow of the statue?" And we've seen Dharma before use such riddles in the past: "What did one snowman say to the other?"...Both Kelvin & Desmond (in the hatch) ask this question after asking "Are you him?" 3. We remember that Bram (back on the main land) kidnaps Miles into the van and tries to get him to join with them (but we don't know who they are and he doesn't tell them.) We know that they don't work for Whidmore and it probably isn't Ben. But he does ask Miles "What lies in the shadow of the statue? He says to Miles that if he comes with them he will discover answers about many things, including what happened to his father. Then he tells Miles he is on the wrong side. When Miles asks what side he is on Bram replies the side that is "gonna win."
I think that these are either new Dharma recruits of a new generation....or possibly descents from previous Dharma members, which is part of the reason why they would want Miles to come with them. Either that or a mix of both.
Also interesting that the whole spin for LOST at the 2008 Comic Con was the whole "recruiting of Dharma members." Why would they be recruiting Dharma members? We all may have thought oh just b/c we had been introduced and shown more about Dharma in the show, what a cool novel idea for the comic con theme. But what if it has to do with the actual story line.....? Dharma needs to reconstitute and go back to the island (to save the original Dharma people)!
Also....still trying to figure out exactly if old Eleanor really knew that she was going to shoot Faraday or not. Or if Faraday actually knew this in going back to the island. It was interesting how he went in there waving a gun, considering he wasn't much of a fighter, but a scientist. But maybe he took a gun b/c he knew his mother was going to try to shoot him already. Either way Eleanor knew he had to go back to fulfill destiny, and so did Faraday (?). Slightly confused about all that, but hopefully they might fill in a few gaps by showing Faraday at Ann Arbor or something at some point.
